Thought we would start with foody things. Just finished writing latest book so went out for dinner to celebrate - to the Harbour-master, Aberaeron overlooking the bobbing masts of small boats in the harbour.

2 courses for £27, plus a great bottle of Muscadet wine (I love the smell of Muscadet). So, we made our choices then were presented with fresh bread, olive oil and a nutty-seedy mix for dipping while we waited. Oh yes, then a dish of home-made nachos - wow, so light and crisp - with tangy guacomole and tomato sauces. Mouthwatering and a starter in itself!

Scallops and pancetta with mint puree in a shell tastes as good as it looks, and Les' choice was a creamy crab mix with pickled cucumber - again, looking good. Mains were Les' favourite of sea-bream and mine a more unusual stuffed aubergine. So, a tasty meal in beautiful surroundings, staff friendly and exceptionally well-trained, and all a perfect celebration meal.

What is the latest meal out you have enjoyed? let me know any in this part of Wales to try for ourselves.

New blog on travel, the arts, and being an author

From one baby-boomer to baby-boomers everywhere (and you youngsters or oldies of course), keep up to date on travel reviews, where to eat, drink and be merry, and basically to get the most out of life.

There will be info on how to write non-fiction - that is, make the most of your life experiences (good, bad, or mundane even) - and books that might be of interest.

Share with your friends and look out for some great photos of food, places to stay and things to see, especially my website Pen Coed Publishing for writing news and Silver Travel Advisor for detailed reviews.         www.pencoedpublishing.co.uk        www.silvertraveladvisor.com
